MR images of 36-year-old man with subtotal resection of right frontal grade III anaplastic astrocytoma, before and after radiation therapy.

Upper row: T1-weighted/FLAIR/T2-weighted RGB composites.
Lower row: RGB composites with contrast enhancement.
Left: December 2000
Right: January 2001 (after radiation therapy)

Comparison of the Talairach-referenced composites demonstrates interval improvement as evidenced by reduction in aberrant hyperintense T2 and FLAIR signal (blue-green) and mass effect. A reduction in periventricular rimming (blue-green) is also seen, which may reflect reduction in transependymal cerebrospinal fluid migration. Note that performing studies with similar Talairach angulation, imaging parameters, and RGB encoding facilitates intrasubject comparison over time.
