  		In the montage above, the drawing depicts a hyperemic kidney with vertical striations of inflammation originating at the papillary tip, small superficial abscesses, and petechial hemorrhage. Computed tomographic and scintigraphic scans demonstrate the imaging findings seen with pyelonephritis.
