Pneumothorax in the supine patient: Radiographic anatomy

The radiographic anatomy of pneumothorax involving the different pleural recesses has been reviewed. Familiarity with the signs illustrated will help in early diagnosis of pneumothorax and may prevent serious consequences, particularly tension pneumothorax.
