Genitourinary anomalies: Radiologic-anatomic correlations

Philip J. Kenney M.D.1, Beverely A. Spirt M.D.1, and Mark D. Leeson M.D.1

1 From the Department of Radiology, State University of New York, Upstate Medical Center, Syracuse, New York.

Genitourinary tract anomalies are frequently multiple and their identification and elucidation often depend on radiologic techniques. Understanding of the development of such anomalies facilitates their accurate radiologic interpretation. Accordingly, the embryology of the genitourinary tract has been reviewed, and the radiographic findings in a number of clinical examples have been analysed.

Index Terms: Genitourinary system • embryology • radiography • Genitourinary system • abnormalities • bicornuate uterus • seminal vesicle anomalies • vaginal agenesis
